You often find them, fruits and veggies with strange shapes, colors, appendages, proboscises, protuberances, and all manner of bumpy and thumpy things sticking out all over them that just don’t belong. It almost makes them just jump out of the bin at you … absolutely screaming your name.
LaaaAAaaane! Oh, LaaaAAaaaannne!! Look at me, LaaAAaaAAAaaane!
Or maybe that’s just me 
In honor of the oddities I often find while shopping, I’m devoting this category to the flights of artistic fancy these fruits and veggies often inspire in me!
Introducing our first contestant, a member of the Veggie Superstars:

Super eggplant is not only strong, determined, purple … and very, very good for you, it’s also great fried or baked … plain or buried in garlic, tomatoes, and cheese … or, my personal favorite, roasted till soft … then taken for a spin in the food processor with garlic, olive oil, and tahini … to make a lovely babaghanoush!
Try doing that with Superman!
